GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo., Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- As rescue and recovery efforts continue along the hurricane-ravaged Mississippi coast, paramedics and EMTs from American Medical Response (AMR) are working closely with authorities to provide assistance. AMR provides emergency 9-1-1 services to coastal Mississippi, and is the largest ambulance provider in the state.
"Even as our employees are dealing with their own losses, they continue to work tirelessly to help others," said Deborah Hileman, spokesperson for AMR and its parent company, EMS-LP. "We have set up an off-site command center to manage deployment of our ambulances from other operations, and to coordinate our efforts with federal, state, and local authorities."
AMR already has deployed an additional 100 ambulances and crews to join in rescue efforts. The company is assessing ongoing needs in the area and will continue to provide resources as they are needed.
The Company also has implemented several programs to support its more than 300 local employees, many of whom have been personally impacted by the storm.
